The Senate has confirmed the renomination of Malam Abubakar Sadiq Yalwa for a second four-year term as Managing Director of the National Hydroelectric Power Producing Areas Development Commission (N-HYPPADEC).
His confirmation followed the presentation of a report by the Senate Committee on Power, chaired by Senator Enyinnaya Abaribe.
Senator Abaribe said the Committee, during the screening exercise, found the nominee competent and fully qualified to continue in the position as approved by the Governing Council of N-HYPPADEC.
He said all the security checks did not reveal any negative information against the nominee.
The Committee members unanimously agreed and alluded to the experience, exposure, performance, qualifications, competence and integrity of the nominee as required by section 931 of the Electricity act and the committee recommended for his confirmation for reappoint as Managing Director.
