The Chairman, Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Professor Mahmood Yakubu has handed over the Commission’s leadership to National Commissioner, Mrs May Agbamuche-Mbu, who will now serve as Acting National Chairman.

The announcement was made by professor Yakubu today during a high-level meeting with Resident Electoral Commissioners (RECs) at the Commission’s headquarters in Abuja.

Mrs Agbamuche-Mbu,is the longest-serving National Commissioner by virtue of her appointment date.

He solicited the support of the commissioners and directors of the commission for Agbamuche, until the appointment of a substantive chairman.
