Special Adviser on Special Duties to the Kebbi State Governor, Alhaji Shafi’u Abubakar Shatiman Zauro, has said that the state government will take former Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami, to court for allegedly defaming Governor Nasir Idris.

Shafi’u Abubakar disclosed this at a press conference held in Birnin Kebbi, the state capital.

Alhaji Shafi’u Abubakar said the former Minister is attempting to sow discord and disharmony in Kebbi State; therefore, the people will take the former Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami, to court for defamation of character and unfounded blackmail.

He criticised the former Attorney-General for making frivolous allegations that the incumbent Kebbi State Governor is sponsoring terrorism, adding that anyone who knows Malami would not be surprised by his antics.

According to him, Malami does not mean well for the people of Kebbi; he has neither shown benevolence to the citizens nor contributed to infrastructural development, including his alma mater, Junju Primary School.

The Special Adviser added that Kebbi State is known for absolute peace and tranquillity, but the former Minister is unhappy about the successes recorded by the incumbent Governor, Nasir Idris, in developing the state and its people.

He said the people of Kebbi have resolved to take legal action against Malami for defamation, character assassination, and incitement.

It could be recalled that earlier this month, Malami accused Governor Nasir Idris of sponsoring thugs to stone his convoy in Birnin Kebbi, the state capital, during a condolence visit.
