Governor Mohammed Umar Bago of Niger state attended a special prayer session for the Etsu Nupe and Chairman, Niger State Council of Traditional Rulers, Alh. Yahaya Abubakar.
The special prayer session, held at the Wadata palace in Bida, Niger State, was at the instance of the Governor to celebrate the Etsu Nupe on his 73rd birthday and 22 year anniversary on throne.
In a remark Governor Umar Bago, explained that the session was to appreciate Allah for His goodness and favour on the life of the Etsu Nupe and to pray for the prosperity of Bida Emirate, Niger State, and Nigeria as a whole .
He however described the Etsu Nupe as an exceptional and kindhearted leader, while acknowledging his good counsel,which he said has been helpful in his decision-making.
The Governor commended the stewardship of the Monarch, noting that his 73 years of existence and 22 years on the throne have been fruitful and successful.
Governor Umar Bago prayed for Allah’s continued blessings and protection of the Etsu Nupe and his throne.
The Etsu Nupe and Chairman, Niger State Council of Traditional Rulers, Alh. Yahaya Abubakar, appreciated Allah’s blessing for his mercies and grace in guiding him through his reign as the 13th Etsu Nupe.
He thanked the Niger state Governor for organising the special prayer session for him, saying it was really a demonstration of his care and concern for him and also appreciated all those who have continued to identify with him and accord him respect.
Etsu Nupe Alh.Yahaya Abubakar prayed for Allah’s continues support and guidance to the farmer Governor as he continue to steer the leadership of the State, while assuring him of the unalloyed support of the State’s traditional institutions to ensure successful implementation of the policies and programmes of his administration.
Chief Imam of Bida, Adamu Yakatun led other Islamic scholars in Bida Emirate in praying for the Etsu Nupe, the Niger state Governor, Niger State, and Nigeria, in addition to the success of the fight against all forms of insecurity and other challenges confronting the nation.
Mayakin Nupe, Alhaji Aliyu Yahaya applauded the Governor for his developmental strides and continued support to the Etsu Nupe, Alh Yahaya Abubakar.
