Muslims have been urged to use the period of maulid celebration to reflect on the virtues of love, and spiritual renewal as exemplified by Prophet Muhammad peace be upon him.
Imam Aliyu Kamal- Abubakar made the call in his Juma’at sermon in Ilorin,Kwara state.
He said the period should not be used for merry making but to ensure the ummah are reawaken on the need to do good at all times.
Imam Kamal-Abubakar congratulate Muslims for having the opportunity to witness the blessed occasion of Maulid Nabiyy.
He maintained that the period reminds Muslims of the mercy, guidance, and light that Prophet Muhammad (SAW) brought to the world.
The cleric advised Muslims to emulate the good deeds of Prophet Muhammad and strive to live by his teachings, adding that they should renew their love and connection to the final Messenger of Allah.
Imam Kamal-Abubakar enjoined Muslims to use the celebrations to spread peace, mercy, and kindness .
