The National Population Commission-NPC says the forthcoming digital housing and population census will enable Nigerians secure legal identity and access to services.

Federal Commissioner representing Kaduna State at the Commission, Hajiya Sa’adatu Garba Dogonbauchi stated this during her on-going state-wide sensitization visit on the upcoming housing and population census in Makarfi and Kubau LGAs respectively.

Hajiya Sa’adatu Garba Dogonbauchi explained that the visit was aimed at galvanising public participation in the upcoming exercise, as well as the Electronic Civil Registration and Vital Statistics program.

She pointed out that the digital census would provide accurate data for national planning and equitable resource allocation.

In their separate remarks, Executive Chairmen of Makarfi and Kubau Local Government Councils, Garba Muhammad and Musa Sale Banki pledged the unwavering commitment and co-operation for a hitch-free exercise and accurate counting of all residents.

Traditional and Religious leaders commended the NPC for the timely commencement of the sensitization campaign, describing census data as the bedrock of effective development planning, while also pledging their full support to the success of the exercise.
