President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has returned to Abuja after concluding a three-day official state visit to Brazil.
The President arrived at the Presidential Wing of Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport at about 1:20 a.m. on Thursday, where he was received by a high-powered delegation of political leaders and senior government officials.
Those on hand to welcome the President included Governors Caleb Mutfwang (Plateau), Uba Sani (Kaduna), Hope Uzodinma (Imo), and AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq (Kwara).
Also present were the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Tajudeen Abbas; Deputy Senate President, Barau Jibrin; Chief of Staff to the President, Femi Gbajabiamila; National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu; and several ministers, among them the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike; Minister of Budget and Economic Planning, Abubakar Atiku Bagudu; and Minister of State for Defence, Bello Matawalle.
During the visit, President Tinubu witnessed the signing of five Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) between Nigeria and Brazil in key areas such as aviation, trade, science, diplomacy, and finance.
At a joint press briefing in Brasília, the Nigerian leader welcomed the anticipated return of Petrobras, Brazil’s state-owned oil company, to Nigeria—five years after it suspended its joint venture operations in the country.
