Governor Dauda Lawal has approved the appointment of qualified citizens into various positions as Senior Special Assistants, Special Assistants, Board Members, and Heads of Government Agencies and Parastatals, as part of efforts to strengthen governance and improve service delivery in the state.

Announcing the development, the Secretary to the State Government, Malam Abubakar Mohammad Nakwada, in a statement signed by his Senior Special Assistant on Media, Sulaiman Ahmad Tudu, said the appointments take immediate effect.

According to the statement, Aliyu Adamu Tsafe has been appointed as Chairman, Zamfara State Media Corporation Board.

Other members of the Board include Rufai Muhammad Anka (Western Zone), Hassana Muhammad Bukkuyum (Western Zone), Muhammad Tanko Khalil (Central Zone), Yahaya Buhari Bungudu (Central Zone), Adamu Sani Katuru (Northern Zone), and Idris Baba Shinkafi (Northern Zone).

Also on the board are the Commissioners of Information, Justice, Finance, Local Government Affairs, Commerce, Religious Affairs, the Chairperson of the State Internal Revenue Service, while the Managing Director of the Media Corporation will serve as Secretary of the Board.

To enhance political representation across the state, the Governor approved the appointment of Senior Special Assistants on Political Matters for each of the three senatorial zones.

They are Nura Abdullahi Tsafe (Central Zone), Aminu Salmanu Shinkafi (Northern Zone), and Nasiru Rabiu (Western Zone).

Governor Lawal also appointed Aisha Jamilu Dinawa as Special Assistant on Media.

Similarly, two new Executive Secretaries were named which are Salisu Isah as Executive Secretary, Zamfara State Poverty Alleviation Agency, and Hassan Muhammad as Executive Secretary, Zamfara State Sports Council.

In the same vein, Balkisu Sani Makaranta was appointed as Secretary, Zamfara State Universal Basic Education Board.

The Governor also approved the redeployment of Amina Mustapha Ismail from the State Censorship Board to Zamfara Investment and Property Development Company as Managing Director.

She has been directed to hand over the affairs of the Censorship Board to the most senior director before resuming her new post.

While congratulating the appointees, Governor Dauda Lawal urged them to discharge their duties with dedication and integrity, in line with the rescue agenda of his administration.
