In an effort to empower young people and promote civic engagement across Jema’a, the Southern Kaduna People’s Union, SOKAPU Youth Wing of Jemaa Local Government Area has announced the launch of a comprehensive voter card registration drive.

In a statement by Chairman of the union, Comrade Benjamin Dickson, the initiative that kicks off Wednesday, August 27, 2025, will span all 12 wards in Jemaa LGA.

It says volunteers mobilized by the Youth Wing will assist residents, particularly young people in accessing the voter registration process, ensuring that no one is left behind in the quest for inclusive political participation.

The program, according to it, is aimed at boosting youth participation in the democratic process and laying the foundation for more representative governance in Southern Kaduna.

“We believe that empowering our youth begins with giving them a voice in choosing their leaders. This registration drive is a key step toward building a stronger, and more engaged community.” Dickson stated

He expresses happiness that the initiative is being supported by the Chairman of Jemaa Local Government, Mr. Peter Tanko Dogara, whose administration has shown a strong commitment to youth development and inclusive governance.

Mr. Benjamin points that his collaboration with the Youth Wing underscores a shared vision for peace, progress, and people-centered leadership in the region.

“We commend Hon. Dogara’s youth-friendly approach and his willingness to partner with us on this critical project”.

The SOKAPU Youth Wing encourages all eligible residents, particularly first-time voters and young people to take advantage of the registration exercise.
