Political appointees have been advised to abide by the Presidential directives on matters affecting the welfare of retirees in the country, in order to justify their sacrifices.

A former Chairman of the House of Representatives Committee on Pension, Alhaji Ibrahim Bawa Kamba, gave the advice in a telephone interview from Kaduna.

Alhaji Ibrahim Kamba expressed dismay over reports of alleged failure to settle pension liabilities despite Presidential approval.

The former legislator who commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for such directives expressed support for peaceful protests by the Senior Citizens expected to alleviate their sufferings.

Alhaji Ibrahim Kamba stressed the need for the presidency to sanction officials accused of alleged sabotage of its policies to serve as deterrent and promote good governance.
