Chairperson, Nigeria Association of Women Journalists, NAWOJ Kaduna State Chapter, Comrade Sahura Jibrin Maidoki has expressed delight for the inauguration of one of her member as the Treasurer of Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ Kaduna State Council.
Comrade Fatima Aliyu who is the immediate past Chairperson, NAWOJ Kaduna State Chapter was sworn-in by the Chairman Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ Kaduna State Council, Comrade Abdulgafar Alabewele as the new Treasurer during Congress held in Kaduna.
According to Comrade Sahura, Comrade Fatima is tested and trusted in terms of leadership disposition, hence she has no doubt that she will deliver effectively as the Council treasurer.
She expressed appreciation to the NUJ Council Chairman, the electorial committee, EXCO and entire members of NUJ for a ranchor free and unopposed process and urged them to support her as she discharge her duties.
Comrade Sahura maintained that NAWOJ and NUJ in Kaduna have a cordial relationship, particularly under the leadership of Comrade Abdulgafar Alabewele, where the financial secretary of the Council, Comrade Funmi Aderinto is a NAWOJIAN, as well as the appointment of the immediate past secretary of NAWOJ Kaduna, Comrade Maureen Sheyin as Ex-officio.
She appealed to all members to accord her all the necessary cooperation to discharge her duties effectively.
On her part, the immediate past National Financial Secretary of RATTAWU, Comrade Jamila Ahmed maidamma of FRCN expressed delight for the inauguration, saying she is confident in the ability of Comrade Fatima Aliyu.
According to her, the inputs Comrade Fatima would bring to the table of the NUJ Kaduna going by her records would take the union to greater heights, and wished her a successful tenure.
The inauguration had in attendance, the NAWOJ North -West Zonal Secretary, Comrade Daharatu Ahmed Aliyu, colleagues, veterans, friends and family of Comrade Fatima Aliyu taking photographs and wishing her a successful tenure.
