The Zamfara State Executive Council has approved a direct financial intervention aimed at boosting livelihoods and supporting small businesses across the fourteen local government areas of the state.

In a statement issued by the Commissioner for Information and Culture, Mahmud Muhammad Dantawasa said the council had approved the disbursement of ₦150,000 each to 735 beneficiaries per local government area, translating into thousands of individuals set to benefit from the initiative.

He explained that, as part of the initiative, five individuals from each of the 147 wards in the state will receive direct financial support of ₦150,000 to uplift their economic conditions and stimulate productivity at the grassroots.

Dantawasa revealed that a total 10, 290 are expected to benefited from the intervention.

He reiterated the present administration’s commitment to grassroots empowerment and economic recovery.

According to him, during the meeting, the government also approved a special intervention package for small-scale entrepreneurs, under which 1,000 business owners across different sectors will receive ₦500,000 each to support and expand their enterprises.

“These interventions are part of Governor Dauda Lawal’s broader vision to drive inclusive growth, create employment opportunities, and strengthen economic resilience among citizens,” Dantawasa explained.

Mahmud Mohammed Dantawasa described the initiative as a bold and people centered decision that underscores the administration’s resolve to achieve meaningful development and social transformation.

“The government is deliberately investing in people because Zamfara’s greatest strength lies in the resilience and enterprise of its citizens. This is not just aid—it is strategic empowerment,” the Commissioner emphasized.

He assured residents that the Lawal-led administration will continue to prioritize the welfare of all people , ensuring that no community is left behind in the ongoing rebuilding and development efforts across the state.
