Jigawa State Government is set to partner with India’s renowned poultry firm, Srinivasa Farms, in a strategic move to transform its poultry industry and strengthen agricultural development in the state.
Governor Malam Umar Namadi led a high-powered delegation to the company’s headquarters in Hyderabad, India, as part of an ongoing agricultural investment tour aimed at forging international partnerships.
In a statement, the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor of jigawa State Hamisu Mohammed Gumel, says the visit focused on exploring technical collaborations that align with the state’s broader agenda for food security and economic growth.

Srinivasa Farms, a leader in India’s poultry industry since 1965, specializes in poultry breeding, feed production, animal health solutions, and food processing.
Its track record and expertise make it a suitable partner for Jigawa’s agricultural modernization.
Discussions during the visit led to a mutual understanding on eight key areas of collaboration.
These include disease management, hatchery technology, farm biosecurity, and training for farmers and veterinary workers.
Other areas cover R&D, support for poultry cooperatives, improved feed solutions, and a technical visit to Jigawa by Srinivasa’s experts.
An official Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) is expected to be signed soon, paving the way for sustainable investment and technical support in Jigawa’s poultry sector.

Governor Namadi expressed high hopes for the initiative, describing it as a major step in positioning Jigawa as a center of poultry excellence in Nigeria.
He emphasized the government’s commitment to harnessing international expertise to empower local farmers and improve food production.
“This partnership is a testament to our resolve to drive agricultural innovation and create job opportunities for our people,” the governor said during the visit.
The technical partnership is part of Jigawa’s wider international agricultural mission to attract investments, promote innovation, and implement the state’s 12-Point Agenda focused on economic diversification and food security.
The statement adds that the forthcoming collaboration with Srinivasa Farms is expected to boost productivity, improve farmer incomes, and advance the overall development of Jigawa’s poultry value chain.
The state government continues to prioritize partnerships that will unlock the potential of its agriculture sector and create a more prosperous future for its citizens.
