Kwara State Government has donated medical equipment worth millions of naira to the Primary Health Centre, at Otte-Oja, in Asa Local Government Area of the state.
Speaking during the official handover ceremony, the State Commissioner for Health, Dr. Amina Ahmed El-Imam, said the aim of the initiative is to strengthen healthcare delivery at the community levels.
She advised residents of Otte-Oja and environs to protect the equipment and make good use of the facility.
Dr. El-Imam emphasized that consistent community engagement with the health center will encourage government to continue to provide additional equipment and health personnel.
“Whatever we have been given must be put to judicious use, as these medical items are meant to serve the people. While government is doing its part, individuals must also play their roles. Therefore avoid self-medication and take advantage of government interventions in the health sector,” She added.
