Security Agencies in Niger state have been directed to provide a water tide security throughout the state for the conduct of a hitch free and successful Eid el fitr celebrations.
State Governor Mohammed Umar Bago gave the directive while addressing the thousands of Muslim faithfuls that gathered for Eid fitr prayer after observing the two rakaat’s prayers at the Minna Central Eid prayer ground.

Garba, the Governor maintained that the state Government will not take any excuses from security agencies for any unrest in parts of the state especially in Minna the state capital.
Mohammed Umar Bago explained that they should do everything humanly possible by being on their toes to ensure an uninterrupted Eid el fitr celebrations for the good of all.
The Governor while calling on wealthy individuals to assist the less privileged persons also advised the youths to be law abiding and not to use this period of celebrations to cause havoc towards achieving the desired objective.
He however thanked the traditional rulers and elders including critical stakeholders for their advise and prayers saying that they will continue to be closer to them to tap from their wealth of experience.
Also speaking Special Adviser to the Governor on Political and Strategy Mohammed Nma Kolo appreciated Niger lites for their support to the Government of Governor Mohammed Umar Bago and called for more to succeed.
Mohammed Nma Kolo gave an assurance that the state Government will continue to do more in line with its quest and vision of achieving a new Niger agenda.
In his Khutba, the new Chief Imam of Minna Central Mosque, Malam Jibril Isah Imam who performed the Eid prayer for the first time after taking over from late Isa Fari congratulated Muslims for being alive to witness this day and reminded them of need to sustain and put into practice what they have learnt during the Ramadan fast.
Among those that performed the Eid el fitr prayer were the former Governor of Niger state Dr Muazu Babangida Aliyu, Emir of Minna Umar Faruk Bahago, members of State Executive Council and the eldest son of former military president Mohammed Babangida among others.
Meanwhile sallah celebrations in Niger state has been peaceful throughout the twenty five Local Government Areas.
