The President of the Senate, Senator Godswill Akpabio, GCON, has felicitated with Muslim faithful on the occasion of Eid-el-Fitr, urging them to pray for the unity of the nation.
Akpabio, in a statement by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Hon. Eseme Eyiboh said as they celebrate, they should continue to pray and work for the unity of the nation.
He said, “As you celebrate the end of Ramadan and mark the occasion of Eid-el-Fitr, I extend my warmest felicitations on behalf of my family, my constituents, the 10th Senate, and the entire National Assembly.”
“May this joyous occasion bring you peace, happiness, and spiritual renewal. May the blessings of Allah be upon you and your loved ones.
The Senate President, in the statement, urged Muslims and fellow Nigerians to remember the values of compassion, kindness, and generosity that define the spirit of Ramadan as they celebrate. He encouraged everyone to uphold these values in their daily lives and to continuously work toward national unity.

In a related development, the Deputy President of the Senate, Senator Barau Jibrin, has rejoiced with Muslims in the country on the successful completion of this year’s Ramadan Fast, urging them to carry forward the lessons of the blessed month.
Eid-el-Fitr marks the end of the Ramadan Fast, the fourth pillar of Islam, during which Muslims are devoted to intense worship and prayers to Almighty Allah.
Senator Barau, in a statement by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Ismail Mudashir, prayed to Allah SWT to accept supplications, prayers and the good deeds of the Ummah during the blessed Month.
He urged all citizens to continue praying for the country and to lend their full support to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu as he addresses the nation’s challenges.
He reiterated the National Assembly’s commitment to enacting necessary legislation to support the President’s efforts.
The Deputy President of the Senate, expressed optimism that the newly established regional development commissions in North West, North Central, South East, South West, and South-South will significantly contribute to developing the country’s regions.
President Tinubu recently assented to bills passed by the National Assembly to establish these five regional commissions (Senator Barau sponsored the bill for the North West Development Commission) to address the country’s developmental challenges.

He urged everyone to continue praying for the country and for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s success in positively transforming the nation. Regardless of differences, he called for unity, tolerance, and peaceful coexistence among all citizens.
