Over 70 female journalists in Kaduna, under the Nigeria Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ), have received Sallah packages from the wife of the state governor, Hajiya Hafsat Uba Sani, in partnership with the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS).
The beneficiaries, drown from the NAWOJ Kaduna State chapter, received essential food items, including rice and millet, to celebrate the festive season.
Speaking on behalf of the association, the acting chairperson of NAWOJ Kaduna, Hajiya Sahura Maidoki, expressed profound gratitude to the sponsors for their generosity.
“We sincerely appreciate Her Excellency, Hajiya Hafsat Uba Sani, and the Nigeria Customs Service for this thoughtful gesture. It is a great relief for many of our members, and we do not take this support for granted,” she said.

In her address, former NAWOJ chairperson Hajiya Fatima Aliyu also commended the initiative, highlighting its impact on the beneficiaries.
“This act of kindness will go a long way in easing the economic burden on our members, especially during the Sallah celebrations. We are grateful to the wife of the governor and the Nigeria Customs Service for remembering women journalists in this season of giving,” she stated.
Some beneficiaries, including Hafsat Ali and Naomi Anzaku who spoke to Radio Nigeria lauded the gesture, noting that the packages would significantly support their Sallah preparations.
The initiative is part of ongoing efforts to support and empower female journalists in Kaduna, ensuring they feel appreciated and recognized for their contributions to society.
