The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Zamfara State Command, has urged private security firms in the state to ensure the regular training of their personnel to enhance their effectiveness on duty.

The Commandant of the Corps in Zamfara, Mr. Sani Mustapha, made the call during the passing-out parade of trainees from various private security firms in the state.

Mr. Mustapha expressed concern over the reluctance of many companies to participate in the NSCDC training programs, describing it as a violation of the law that established them.

He noted that, out of the 40 registered private security organizations in Zamfara, only eight participated in the recent Batch ‘A’ training exercise.

“This is unacceptable, and erring companies will be sanctioned accordingly, The Chairman should take note and ensure that all member organizations comply”, he warned.

Mr Sani Mustapha who emphasized that the training is a continuous program, with dates for the next batch to be communicated soon said both new and existing security personnel are expected to participate, as the program is designed to improve their effectiveness in securing lives and property across the state.

The Commandant also urged private security firms to cooperate with the NSCDC in efforts to combat security challenges and contribute to a safer society.

In his remarks, the Head Department of the Private Guard of the NSCDC in Zamfara, Deputy Commander Samuel Tunde, disclosed that 35 security guards participated in the latest training exercise from eight firms.

The Managing Director of Screen Guards Security, Mr. Yusuf Bisu Ruwan Dorawa, expressed gratitude to the NSCDC for providing private security personnel with the opportunity to receive professional training.

He noted that such programs enhance their performance and called on the Zamfara State Government to engage private security firms in protecting public offices and facilities.

Additionally, Mr. Ruwan Dorawa urged the youth in Zamfara to seek meaningful employment opportunities to contribute positively to national development.
