The National Assembly has constituted a committee to investigate allegations regarding the relocation of fire simulator equipment at the Nigerian College of Aviation Technology in Zaria.

Radio Nigeria correspondent in Zaria reports that Engineer Sulaiman Yahaya Richifa, the Deputy Vice Chairman of the House Committee on Aviation and a representative of Soba Local Government Federal Constituency in Kaduna State, is leading the committee.

Engineer Richifa explained that the purpose of the fact-finding visit was to investigate allegations of relocating fire simulator and training equipment to other parts of the country.

He explained that the Federal government had spent huge amount of money to ensure sustainability in the pioneer Aviation College Zaria to meet global standard.

Engineer Sulaiman Yahaya Richifa pointed out that the National Assembly remains committed to supporting the improvement of the Aviation Industry to achieve desired objective.

The Deputy Chairman of the committee commended the Nigerian College of Aviation Technology Zaria for their commitment and dedication in carrying out their mandate.

in a welcome address, the acting Rector, Nigerian College of Aviation Zaria mr, Joseph shaka Imanukwe debunked the rumour that the Fire Simulator and Training Equipment would be relocated to other part of the country.

Mr. Joseph Shaka expressed hope that the National Assembly would be convinced that there was no plan to relocate the fire simulator and training equipment.

He stressed the need for the National Assembly to address some of the challenges facing the College to assist it in competing favourably with other international colleges and meeting global standards.

It could be recalled that some months ago, prominent citizens from the North alleged that plans were underway to relocate the Fire Simulator and Training Equipment aimed at sabotaging the pioneer Aviation College in Zaria.
