The Bauchi State Road Safe Command FRSC says the rate of road accident has drastically reduced in the first and second quarter of this year 2023.

This was as a result of the strategies adopted by the command towards reducing lost of lives on the road.

The new Sector Commander, Patrick Ikaba gave the indication while briefing newsmen on the activities of the command in Bauchi.

Patrick Ikaba explained that in the first quarter of this year 2023 the command recorded 91 total road crashes, 29 fatal road crash, 61 serious while 1 minor accidents.

In the second quarter 2023 total number of road crashes were 68, 22 fatal crashed, 45 serious and 1 minor accidents.

” You can believe with me that with this figures that road crashes has reduced drastically in our state”.

While expressing his determination to sustaining the development, Patrick Ikaba emphasized the need for the installation of Speed Limiting Device on commercial vehicles to avoid over speeding which is the main cause of road accident.

” We’ll collaborate with our sister agencies in this regards to put pressure on this policy with a view to saving lives and property “

On passengers manifest, the Commander warned that any commercial vehicle flying the road without passengers manifest would be sanctioned.

“Commercial drivers are hereby warned to desist from flying the roads without this manisfest as the command would not left any stone unturned in punishing offenders”.

He called on the road users to always abide by the traffic rules and regulations to save lives.
