Zamfara Assembly Requests For Road Construction In A LGA

Zamfara State House of Assembly has resolved to request the state government to construct 33.8 kilometers roads in Gummi local government area of the state.

This followed a motion moved by a member of the House, Honourable Bashir Aliyu Gummi, representing Gummi 1 state constituency.

He called on his colleagues to agree and call on the State Government to construct the said 33.8KM in his constituency to ease transportation of farm produce and boost economy of the state.

Presenting the motion, Bashir said, the roads if constructed will alleviate sufferings of the affected communities in transporting their farm produce, promote commercial activities and connect them with other communities and the State capital.

He said the 33.8 km roads include Gummi to Falale 11km, Falale to Iyaka 3.7 km, Iyaka to Birnin Tudu 7.63 km and Birnin Tudu to Daki Takwas 11.44km roads all in Gummi Local Government respectively.

Contributing to the debate, Chairman House Committee on Information, Culture and Tourism, Honourable Amiru Ahmed, commended the mover of the motion for having his people at heart and called on all the members to support him.

With the unanimous consent of the Members, the Speaker, Rt. Hon. Bilyaminu Ismaíl Moriki directed the Clerk of the House, Shehu Saidu Anka to write and issue the resolution calling on the State Government to construct the roads linking these communities so as to ease their sufferings.
