KTSG Partner Fed Ministry To Address Environmental Issues

Governor Dikko Umar Radda, of Katsina State and Permanent Secretary Federal Ministry of Environment Alhaji Ibrahim Yusufu, when the Governor paid him a courtesy visit at his office in Abuja.

Katsina state Government is set to collaborate with the Federal Ministry of Environment in order to tackle environmental issues across the state.

Governor Dikko Umar Radda, made the remark during a courtesy call on the Permanent Secretary Federal Ministry of Environment Alh Ibrahim Yusufu at his office in Abuja.

The Katsina State Governor who described desertification and erosion as key issues prioritized in the world over due to global environmental challenges and climate change, confirmed that the dangers were seriously affecting his State.

Dr. Dikko Radda, explained that as the mandate falls within the jurisdiction of the Permanent Secretary being an indigene of Katsina State, the visit would pave way to seek for necessary support and intervention from the Ministry towards addressing environmental challenges in the State

The Governor emphasized that similar meeting with Directors of various ministries who were indigene of the State would also be convened under the Permanent Secretary to see how they can assist the state from their own end.

Responding, the Permanent Secretary Alh Ibrahim Yusufu, thanked Governor Radda, over the visit assuring him of the ministry’s readiness to work with his government to change the narration.

He further confirmed that he had been assisting the state in several issues, especially on the 6.2 billion naira Ruga scheme, waivers for the Federal Medical Center, Federal University Dutsinma amongst others and would continue to do more in the interest of development.

Alh Yusufu however, appealed for synergy and team work among the key players and prominent indigene of Katsina to enable the state leverage on many government programmes that have impact on the citizens.
