Kebbi Deputy Governor during the visit of the team from the Global Health

The Kebbi State government, says its committed to the provision of all the necessary support and facilities as requirement for the establishment of the State Drug Management Agency for sustainable drug revolving programme.

The State Deputy Governor, Senator Umar Abubakar, affirmed this when he received -Global Health Supply Procurement and Supply Management led by the Technical Director, Reproductive Maternal Neonatal Child Health, (RMNCH), Mr. Dimda James on an official visit to his office in Birnin Kebbi.

Senator Abubakar said, healthcare delivery was one of top priorities of the present led Governor Nasir Idris administration with emphasis on the importance of good health to the development of the citizens and the state.

Earlier, the Permanent Secretary Ministry of Health, Dr. Shehu Nuhu koko who led the team to the visit said, the team was in the state for the assessment of the state preparedness towards the establishment of the agency in the state.

Dr. Nuhu koko said, the Drug Revolving Fund as programme of the Federal Government was aimed at helping people have access to health care delivery which according to him many states in the federation were already implementing.

In a remark, the team leader from Global Health Supply Chain- Procurement and Supply Management, Mr. Dimda James, appreciated the readiness of the Kebbi state government to partner towards the establishment of the Agency.

Mr. James pointed out that, USAID’s support is for three states that include Kebbi, Sokoto and Bauchi and observed that, the state has meet required criteria needed for the intervention.
