Accreditation and voting commenced at about 9: 45 in most polling units in Sokoto South and Sokoto north metropolis.

Radio Nigeria Correspondent in Sokoto reports that 65 to 70 percent of voters are women and youth and the atmosphere is calm at the polling units, with security agents keeping vigil to ensure law and order.

Independent National Electoral Commission INEC officials are also on ground working and monitoring the conduct of the exercise.
