Women, Youths Constitute 80% Of Voters In Taraba

Voting process In Taraba State has gone far as many Polling units started accreditation at about 8:30 am, while voting commenced at 9:50 am.

Our Correspondent who visited some of the polling units in Jalingo, the state capital reports that at Mayo-gwai 003 and Kofan Mai Dala’ilu, polling units voting did not commence early as a result of late arrival of INEC officials.

At Bayan Gidan Malam Abi 001 Jalingo and Sintali 004 in Sintali ward, where the minister of Transportation, Mu’azu Sambo Jaji is expected to cast his vote voting commenced early and it’s in progress as at the time of filling this report.

Radio Nigeria also observed that women and youth constituted about 80 percent of voters in many of the polling units visited, while the atmosphere was calm and peaceful.

Security operatives were also sighted at points including the polling units, toward ensuring law and order across the state capital.

However, voters turnout at other LGAs comparing Zing, Karim Lamido, Gashaka, Wukari, Ardo Kola, Gassol, Ibi, Yerro, and Takum, Lau, Sardauna, and Bali was also impressive, as they were seen patiently on the queue waiting for their turn to exercise their franchise.

INEC officials and political party agents were also on ground working and monitoring the conduct of the exercise.
