Niger state government has approved one billion naira for the construction of Teacher Professional Development Centre to be known as the Legacy Centre in Minna.

The centre is to be constructed soon at the pemises of Government Girls Secondary School former WTC Minna.

State Governor Alh Abubakar Sani Bello who stated this at the combined graduation ceremony of Niger State Teacher Professional Development Institute in Minna said he feel fulfilled to witness this graduation.

Alh Abubakar Sani Bello however exppressed reservations that despite his administration passion and commitment as well as huge investment in the education sector insecurity and banditry stemmed the progress they have recorded.

According to him government was forced to relocate students of two centres of Kuta and Dandaudu to the premises of Zarumai Secondary School Minna for safety stressing that Niger state government will not succumb to threat of insecurity in it’s quest to put the state on the path of sustainable development in education sector.

In her remarks Niger state Commissioner of Education hajiya Hannatu Jibrin Salihu said the institute has graduated thirty seven serving teacher’s with professional diploma in education certificate to qualify them as teacher’s in addition to other twenty seven students with diploma qualifications in various education programmes.

Hajiya Hannatu Jibrin Salihu also commended the Niger state Govenor Alh Abubakar Sani Bello for his untiring support which she said was responsible for most of the successes they have recorded.

A total of five hundred and thirteen students have graduated with Basic Certificate of Education.
