Written by Godwin Duru

Labour Party Support Group in collaboration with Peter Obi Presidential Campaign Council, has embarked on an entrepreneurship development and skills acquisition training for over one hundred women at Rigasa Community, Igabi Local Government area of Kaduna State.

The Kaduna State intervention Chairman of POPCC Mr. Yusuf Solomon Danbaki who stated this at the commencement of the event, said the initiative was part of effort to empower them for self-reliance.

Describing it as a grassroot campaign strategy, Solomon Danbaki pointed out that, the initiative was also a demonstration of the Party’s mandate of moving Nigeria from consumption to production to enhance the socio-economic wellbeing of the citizenry if given the mandate.

He said, the skills acquisition training that focused on the production of liquid soap and antiseptics among others, was to intensify awareness campaign.

“This program is put together by all the support groups in kaduna state to show the people what it means when we talk about moving from consumption to production”

“We want to show them how to produce based things like liquid soap, Dettol Izal and Vaseline even in their back yard without any difficulties, and that will go along way in solving their immediate need,

“As it were, we all know that everyone of us are tired of consumption not been able to produce, so we’ve come to show our people how examplery our leader is, and to also show the people that when he comes to power, they will not only be consuming, but have the access to be able to produce themselves”, said Danbaki.

Mr. Danbaki who appealed for massive support for the party, urged Nigerians to come out enmass and vote for the party from top to bottom, saying a vote for labour Party is a vote for peace, unity and economic development of Nigeria.

“Now we are moving from the white collar jobs syndrome to tell you that we can create jobs by ourselves, this is a call to give labour Party the opportunity to show them that we have leaders that still have Nigerians at heart,

“We want to follow People of vision, and as we know, the presidential candidate of the party and his running mate are People of vision, hence the need for Nigerians and those that have not collected their PVC to do so, because we have the power in our hands to seat and unseat leaders come next year” he added.

Some of the beneficiaries, Mrs. Hadiza Adamu and Aisha Isiaku while expression satisfaction for the skills acquired, appreciated the group.

They were optimistic that what they have learnt would enable them affect their lives and the immediate community by setting up their business enterprises to contribute to the economic development of the state and Nigeria in general.
