Sokoto Youths Seek Endorsement Of Almajiri, Out Of School Children Bills

National Youth Council of Nigeria Sokoto state chapter has declared its surpport for the establishment of a National Commission for Almajiri Education and out of School Children Bill.

Speaking at a meeting in Sokoto, the National president of the youth council organization, Comrade Yakubu Abubakar said if passed into law, the bill would tackle the challenges of Almajiri and out of the school children through well formed Youth and children policies that have direct bearing to productivity in the country.

Comrade Yakubu explained that the aims of the commission if established, was to provide skills and entrepreneurship acquisition centres that would ensure youth productivity for socio – economic and security development in the country.

The National president said the bill would also prevent destitution and checks restiveness in the country.

He said the bill which was sponsored by a member representing Bodinga, Dange Shuni and Tureta Federal Constituency in Sokoto state Shehu Balarabe Kale and 17 others, has passed second reading in the National Assembly.

Radio Nigeria Correspondent in Sokoto report that the bill was also sent to the Sokoto state Assembly by Governor Aminu Waziri Tambuwal for passage.

The National president of the youth council appealed for speedy consideration of the Bill by the Senate.
