The Kwara State Fire Service has saved a two story building at Sabon-Line Area in Ilorin from total destruction.
In a statement, the Head Media and Publicity of the Fire Service, Hassan Adekunle says the incident involved a two-storey building comprising about four (4) room-and-parlour self-contained apartments, out of which one room was affected by the fire.
According to it , upon arrival, the firefighters swiftly commenced operations and successfully contained the fire, preventing it from spreading to the other apartments and adjoining properties.
It says the cause of the fire is still under investigation, as preliminary findings have not yet established the remote cause of the incident.
The Chief Fire Officer of the Kwara State Fire Service, Alabi Muhammed, advised residents to remain vigilant and ensure all electrical installations and appliances within their homes are regularly checked and maintained.
