In an effort to ease transportation and transform Kano to a mega city , Kano state government has launched ultra modern buses and taxis for shuttle services within the eight metropolitan local governments areas of the state and beyond.

At the launch ceremony, Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje said the objectives of the gesture was to ease the mode of transportation and reduce traffic congestion in Kano city.

He explained that his administration had invested heavily in the construction of road infrastructure, overhead bridges and underpasses geared towards making Kano a mega city that can compete with others in the world.

“I assure you that 200 more ultra modern buses will be captured in the next year’s budget so that they will be procured and made available to the general populace of the state”

He urged the people of the state to always maintain themselves orderly while accessing the services of the new buses , adding that the bus Services would be following the routes of Jogana-yankura-Janguza, and other routes within the metropolitan.

In his remark, Commissioner for Transportation, Alhaji Saleh Kausani commended all the stakeholders that contributed towards the realization of the project.

Earlier, the Chairman Interim Management Committee of Kano Chambers of Commerce, industries, Mines, and Agriculture Alhaji Ahmed Aminu said the gesture was a testimony of good governance.

He maintained the ultra modern mode of transportation would ease business activities and attracted more investors, stressing that the procurement buses and taxis was a positive development.

The ceremony was graced by stakeholders in the transportation industry, leaders of transport and tricycle unions, and the public
