Kano state chapter of Arewa Consultative Forum, has elected new officials to run the affairs of the association for three years.
Speaking during the inaugration of the new executives, General Halliru Akilu (rtd), charged them to work assidiously in discharging their responsibilities.
In his acceptance speech, the new Chairman of the forum in Kano state, Dr. Umar Faruk Gwani highlighted that the new officials would prioritize educational development through scholarships to indigenous students.
He maintained that, other areas of interest include mitigating insecurity, enlightening the public on how to protect themselves against insurgency, as well as organizing entrepreneurship training for youths, and provide them with start up capital to become self reliant .
Dr. Umar pointed out that, the forum would liase with candidates in the forth coming general elections, by providing a blue print for the development of the state.
“We hope to achieve all these within our three year tenure”
Also speaking , the newly elected secretary Dr. Muhammad Mustapha Yahaya, identified qualities such as humility, dedication, hard work, commitment, proactiveness and patience as the backbone of any meaningful leadership.
He said these were the qualities he used in managing the secreteriat that paved way for him to be re-elected as the secretary.
While commending members of the forum for the confidence reposed on them, he stressed that they would not relent in discharging their duties accordingly.
Radio Nigeria reports that, those elected include Dr. Umar Faruk Gwani as chairman, Hajiya Aishatu Yakubu Maijama’a; deputy chairman, Dr. Muhammad Mustapha Yahaya ; secretary, Professor Kamilu Sani Fagge : assistant secretary, Nasiru Yusuf Ibrahim of Abubakar Rimi Television ; assistant publicity secretary and ten others to administer the affairs of the association for the next three years.
