NAWOJ Committed To Tackling GBV, Inequality In Kano

Nigeria Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ), Kano state chapter has reiterated its dedication to upholding the rights of the girl child.

This was contained in a statement to commemorate international day of the girl child, signed by secretary NAWOJ Kano, Mrs Elizabeth Yila Lamido and made available to Radio Nigeria in Kano.

According to the statement, the Kano state NAWOJ chairperson Hajiya Hafsat Sani Usman facilitates with girls globally.

Hafsat however highlighted that, girls are mostly sidelined and often at the receiving end.

The chairperson expressed concern over increasing violence and discrimination against women globally.

She pointed out that the Nigeria association of women journalists would work assidiously in ensuring that women are equally represented in decision making which is a milestone in achieving gender equality.
