The Vice Chancellor of Bayero University Kano Professor Sagir Adamu Abbas has described scientific research as a major pillar of providing solutions to health challenges.

Professor Sagir Adamu Abbas stated this during the opening ceremony of the International Association for Dental Research 19th Annual Conference and General Meeting taking place in Kano.

He said the conference would play a vital role in brainstorming on different scientific research that would be used in forming policy in the health sector.

” We expect a lot of scientific research to be presented at the conference, and we expect our professionals to carry these findings to where they are working aimed at enhancing the health status of the general populace”

The vice chancellor explained that the Department of Dentistry of Bayero University Kano has achieved greater heights from its inception to date, stressing that over one thousand students have graduated from the department.

In her remark, the President of the Association in Nigeria, Professor Omolara Uti said the focus of the annual general meeting was to expand their membership base.

“We aim to get the core northern people to join us, the southern part was well familiar with the association “

Professor Omolora Uti noted that the annual general meeting and conference targeted more people to be more research-oriented, geared toward increasing the number of scientific researchers in the northern part of the country.

The conference-themed ‘Potential Application of Data Science for Precious Health in Africa attracted participants from all parts of the nation.
