Kaduna State government has advised youths in the state to take advantage of the Federal government Technical and Vocational Education and Training program intervention to acquire needed skills.

The Special Adviser to the State Governor on Human Capital Development, Alhaji Sagir Balarabe stated while speaking with newsmen after stakeholders meeting on Project T – MAX in collaboration with Industrial Training Fund in Kaduna State.

Project T-MAX is a Technical & Vocational Education & Training (TVET) Programme, approved by the
National Steering Committee on National Poverty Reduction with Growth Strategy
to achieve the Federal Government’s
goal of lifting one hundred million Nigerians out of poverty as one of the core interventions by 2030.

Alhaji Balarabe explained that, two thousand youths In Kaduna would benefit from the training in seven skills areas.

According to him, the state government had identified public and private skills center that the training will take place.

“This exercise that has been going for weeks, we have been working with ITF, Ministry of Business, Innovation and Technology as well as the office of the Special Adviser to President”

Alhaji Sagir Balarabe noted that, forty percent of the youths would receive starter packs after the training, stressing that, the training was in line with the state government programmes under human capital development.

He also said seven skills areas has been identified for the training such as ICT, automobile, agro processing and packaging among others.

The Special Adviser however urged the youths to log in the T -MAX Portal to register their details.

Also speaking, the Area Manager Industrial Training Fund ITF Kaduna office, Alhaji Garba Hassan said the training programme is designed for unemployed youths and graduates that are not working.

According to him, it is only designed for unemployed youths.

Project T-MAX, is headed by the office of the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Educational Intervention Mr Bank Olemoh Fela.

Various stakeholders attended the meeting.
