Kaduna State Acting Governor, Dr. Hadiza Balarebe has reiterated government’s commitment towards improving harmonious relationship between Muslims and Christians in the state.

Dr. Hadiza Balarabe, represented by the Commissioner for Budget and Planning Commission, Umma Yusuf Aboki, at the 2022 Post Hajj review exercise organised by Kaduna State Pilgrims Welfare Agency, assured of the state’s efforts towards creating an atmosphere for a united state.

She noted that Kaduna state was known to be a city for all without distinction between the two faiths; Islam and Christianity.

The Acting Governor commended the Agency for creating an avenue for the review of the 2022 Hajj exercise which was the first of its kind in the state.

The review of the Post Hajj exercise is to identify the successes, challenges and failure of the exercise, as well as, profer solutions to the identified challenges if any and to consolidate on the successes.”

Dr Hadiza assured that the reports of the review would be presented to the appropriate quarters for further action.

In a welcome address, the Executive Secretary of the Agency, Yusuf Arrigasiyyu disclosed that the forum was to receive feedback from stakeholders, especially in the areas where challenges were experienced.

He explained that the agency processed 2,489 pilgrims for the 2022 Hajj exercise as against the 2,591 allocated to the state.

According to him, about 101 pilgrims were not airlifted due to some external problems relating to Visa issuance.

On the success of the exercise, Arrigasiyyu further stated that it was a hitch-free exercise and that the responsibilities of the agency were discharged to the pilgrims.

We had no record of missing luggage and our pilgrims were fed well all through the pilgrimage. We just recorded the death of about three pilgrims which is beyond human control he noted.
