The Sultan of Sokoto Muhammad Saad Abubakar has declared Saturday the thirtieth of July 2022 equivalent to Islamic calendar thirtieth of Zulkida1443 as the first day of Muharram1444
In a statement signed by the chairman advisory committee Sultanate Council Sokoto state Prof. Sambo Wali Junaidu says the committee did not receive any report from various moon sighting Committee across the country confirming the Sighting of the crescent of Muharram yesterday equivalent to thirtieth of Zulkida1443.
The Sultan felicitates with Nigerian Muslim ummah on the Islamic new year and wished them Allah’s guidance and blessings and urged the Muslims to fervently pray for peace and unity of the Country.
