200 people have been arrested by officials of Kwara state ministry of environment for violation of various sanitation laws in the state.

Speaking during the monitoring of the monthly sanitation exercise in Ilorin metropolis, the state Commisssioner for Environment, Remilekun Banigbe said it was a duty of every resident to obey the state sanitation laws.

According to her the team will continue to enforce the exercise to ensure healthy environment.

Banigbe explained that every citizen of the state had a role to play in making sure the exercise was successful.

She noted that all sanitation laws governing the state must be strictly adhered to.

Banigbe urged the residents to desist from indiscriminate dumping of refuse in unauthorized places to prevent epidemic.
