KNHA Approves N10b Loan For Procurement Of CCTV Cameras

Kano house of assembly has received a letter from the executive, seeking for the approaval of a 10 billion naira loan, for procurement of CCTV cameras to strengthen security across the state.

Reading the letter during today’s plenary session, the speaker Engineer Hamisu Ibrahim Chidari, said the letter explained that, the state executive council had deliberated and approved for the state government to obtain the #10 billion naira loan facility.

According to the letter, the loan would be used to develop optic cyber and install CCTV cameras in all strategic locations within the metropolis and headquarters of five emirate councils as well as cyber control rooms.

The Lawmakers supported the bill and argued that, Kano was one of the most peaceful states in the country as such there was the urgent need for government to put modalities in place to boost security in the state.

Speaking to newsmen shortly after plenary session,majority leader of the house, Alhaji Labaran Abdul Madari said the loan was for a period of ten years with 5% interest.

He explained that the letter pointed out that, installation of the CCTV was due to security situation in the north which needed to be seriously addressed.

In another development, the lawmakers confirmed the appointment of Alhaji Isma’il Musa as the state auditor general.

The confirmation was sequel to a report presentation by chairman house standing committee on public accounts,Salisu Muhammad Doguwa, adopted by the lawmakers.

Similarly, the house had adopted the report in respect of Kano state permissible weights bill 2021.

The house adjourned it’s sitting to Monday 20th June 2022.
