A night inferno has gutted a two storey building comprising about 33 shops in Ilorin metropolis.

In a statement by the spokesman of Kwara state fire service, Hassan Adekunle said the incident occurred at about 21:43 hours.

He said the timely arrival of the fire fighters to the scene made it possible to limit the damage caused by the ravaging fire to a single shop.

Adekunle noted that the cause of the fire incident was due to power surge.

In his remark , the Director, Kwara State Fire Service , Prince Falade Olumuyiwa advised residents of the state to be more safety conscious .
