The Executive Secretary of the Kwara Muslim Pilgrim’s Board, Alhaji AbdulGaniyu Ahmed speaking with ñewsmen in llorin on preparation for 2022 Hajj exercise-by -ALI MUHAMMAD RABIU

A total of 1,403 intending pilgrims are expected to perform 2022 Hajj exercise to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia from Kwara State.

The Executive Secretary of the Kwara Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board, Alhaji Abdulganiyu Ahmed stated this while speaking with Newsmen in Ilorin.

He said the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) resolved the distributions of 43,000 seats allocated to Nigeria by the Saudi Arabia authority.

Alhaji Ahmed explained that the 1,403 seats for the state was approved during a meeting with Chief Executives of State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Boards.

He noted that the state got the slots based on its performance in the 2019 Hajj operation

Alhaji Ahmed said intending pilgrims above 65 year old will not be allowed to perform the pilgrimage following covid 19 pandemic.

He maintained that NAHCON is still computing the specific Hajj fare for 2022, adding the commission will take cognisance of Naira flunctuations, aviation’s fuel and other logistics.
