Zamfara Police Command Rescues 39 Victims, Nabs 10 Suspects

The Zamfara State Police Command has rescued thirty nine Kidnapped victims, arrest ten Suspects including members of the outlawed group Yansakai and recovered locally fabricated guns.

The State Commissioner of Police CP Ayuba Elkhana made this known at the command’s headquaters, in Gusau the state capital.

CP Elkhana said one Abdullahi Sani Mohammed of Karofin Madaki Area of Bauchi State was nvolved in a minor motor accident before Ganjuwa in Bauchi State, with a stolen vehicle of one Usman Shehu of Danturai Area Gusau LGA.

He said a locally fabricated pistol was recovered inside the stolen vehicle and one Honda Anaconda Vehicle 2012 Model, adding that,
investigation is in progress with a view to arresting other members of the syndicate and charge them to court

According to him, Police Tactical operatives on clearance operations have rescued thirty nine Kidnapped victims, who were abducted at various villages and locations in Bungudu and Maru local government areas respectively.

The rescued victims include 8 male, 15 female including nursing mothers and 16 children adding that the Victims have been medically treated by the joint Police and State Government Medical teams.

The Police Commissioner added that, the troops from Sector 1 of Operation Hadarin Daji operating at Dogon Kade handed over four mebers of Yansakai to the Police for discreet investigation on alleged invasion of Dogon Kade Market where marketers including Fulanis were attacked and harassed.

It could be recalled that the State Government had already outlawed the activities of Yansakai across the State.
