As Muslims in the country joined their counterparts across the world in commemorating the annual holy month of Ramadan, the Kaduna State Council of the Nigerian Union of Journalists NUJ has charged the Muslim faithful to use the period in seeking Allah’s blessings and divine intervention toward the restoration of peace and unity of purpose in the state and the country.

A statement by the Council Secretary, Gambo Santos Sanga says the Concil Chairman, Asma’u yawo Halilu called on the Muslim ummah to use the occasion for sober reflection.

The statement admonished Muslims to pray for Allah’s mercies, provisions and protection as well as to heal the country from its current insecurity challenges.

It also enjoined Muslims and non-Muslims alike to close ranks and live in peace and harmony for the socioeconomic and political well-being of the country.

The council further expressed optimism that Kaduna state and indeed Nigeria will survive the numerous challenges bedevilling the nation, stressing that every challenge is surmountable.

It adds that the Council prayed to Allah to accept the spiritual rejuvenation of Muslims and grant Nigeria a peaceful Ramadan period, as well as a peaceful transition, comes 2023.
