Zabi Sonka Association Honours Radio Nigeria, Jigawa Governor, Others

The Request Presenters Association of Nigeria, popularly known as Zabi Sonka has commended Governor Badaru Abubakar for his support to the association.

The National Chairman of the association, Alhaji Umar Jirgi Maihoto stated this at the 60th Anniversary of the association held in Dutse, the Jigawa state capital. 

He thanked Governor Badaru Abubakar for his support to the association.

He appealed to Badaru to provide the association with bus both at state national level.

Alhaji Umar Jirgi Maihoto said it would enable members from the state attend quarterly meeting of the association being held in selected states of the federation.

He further promised that the association would continue to ensure that Nigerians imbibe the virtues of humility, honesty, diligence and integrity so as to enhance productivity and nation building, security, economic prosperity, brotherliness and unity.

Earlier the state Chairman of the Association, Alhaji Babagana Muhammad, said the association had been preaching love and friendship among Nigerians and other Africans.

He added that philanthropic and humanitarian activities are carried out by the group in support of the needy and less privilege.

“Not work does not stop at presenting request in radio stations. We plant trees in order to check desertification and provide shed for both human and animal, we clean and maintain grave yard, as well build mosques,”~ Babagana.

He added that association has its members across Nigeria and other African countries which include Chad, Cameroon and Niger Republic, among others.

Radio Nigeria reports that, the association honoured Governor Badaru Abubakar of Jigawa state, Governor Babagana Umara Zulum of Borno state and former Niger state Governor, Babangida Aliyu.

Other recipients of the award were Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria FRCN among others.
