Inter Agency Synergy Key To Effective Security -Forum

Inter- Agency Collaboration and Synergy has been described as catalyst for cohesion and harmonious coexistence that would enhance operational performance among different Security Agencies to promote growth and development of the country.

This formed part of discussion during the quarterly meeting of the Nigeria’s Security Agencies under the umbrella of the military, police and the para-military Public Relations Officers’ Forum, MILPOPPROF held at the Nigeria Customs Service Federal Operations Unit in Kaduna State.

With the theme “Synergizing to secure the Nation’s Territorial Intergrity”, the meeting became imperative following the need to communicate collaboration, cooperation, confidence and synergy among the agencies for optimal productivity.

Chief Facilitator of the Kaduna state chapter of the Forum Deputy Superintendent of Corrections, DSC. Aji Stephanie Portia pointed to the fact that, the meeting provided a platform toward demonstrating the collective unity of purpose among members in the discharge of their statutory mandate regardless of corps and uniform.

According to A .S Portia, Inter-Agency Collaboration is a catalyst for cohesion toward peaceful coexistence for development to thrive.

Officer incharge of hosting Agency, Comptroller of Customs Service Federal Operations Unit Zone B, Compt. Albashir Hamisu said the meeting was timely, noting that, the role of strategic communication in security Agencies cannot be overemphasized.

According to Mr. Hamisu, Public Relations Officers, PROs who are vested with the image building power, have a veritable tools at hand which is language, hence the need for them to use it strategically as a symbol of peace and unifying force most especially among the rank and file.

He added that the days of self glory was over, as Inter- Agency Synergy and collaboration is already enhancing the gains in today’s security challenges for the general good of all.
