Jigawa State Government in collaboration with the United Kingdom foreign, commonwealth development office FCDO, has organized a sensitization workshop on mutual accountability and framework for Local Government officials and civil society organizations at Sir Ahmadu Bello hall Dutse, the state capital.

Declaring the workshop opened, the state Deputy Governor Mallam Umar Namadi urged the ministry for Local Government and the Directorate of Budget and Economic Planning to collaborate with Local Governments to ensure each Local Council develops its medium-term blueprint.

According to him, the state government is putting more effort towards engaging local government to transform the lives of their people as well as providing necessary facilities that will enhance rapid development.

In a remark, the regional Coordinator of Jigawa and Katsina states, Mr. Fidelis Nchewi, pointed out that UK FCDO was supporting Jigawa state in delivering a development plan that would move the state forward.

He said the United Kingdom and Jigawa state governments had signed a mutual accountability framework that will promote service delivery in local Government areas of the State.
