Kaduna State Caucus in the House of Representatives has called on security agencies to intensify efforts to end banditry and Kidnapping along the Abuja-Kaduna highway.
Chairman of the Caucus Alhaji Garba Datti, made the call while briefing the house press corps in Abuja.
Alhaji Garba Datti, who expressed the lawmaker’s concern over the state of insecurity along Kaduna -Abuja highway, said the trend had forced thousands of Nigerians to remain where they were or use means of transportations outside their means or
convenience.
The lawmaker stressed that the Abuja-Kaduna highway was a critical gateway between North and Southern part of Nigeria and serve as major link road to the North West and North East as well as many neighbouring countries.
He maintained that the highway function as the key outlet for the transportation of persons, goods and services across Nigeria, saying this was evident in the extraordinary traffic on it, round the clock became imperative to ensure the road is secured.
