Over 57,000 children are expected to be immunized in the on going polio immunization exercise in Malam Madori Local Government Area of Jigawa state.

The state Technical Facilitator, Mallam Usman Binyaminu disclosed this at the commencement of the exercise in Mallam madori local government area.

He said more than 57,707 children were immunized in the last round of the exercise in the area.

Also speaking,the Health Educator in the area, Hamisu Muhammad said the council received 66,150 doses of Oral Polio Vaccine.

According to him,109 adhoc staff were employed for the exercise.

Earlier, the manager primary Healthcare in the area Hamza Bello called on community and religious leaders to support and mobilise people to  participate in the exercise.

In his remarks, the council chairman Hussain Umar BK pledged maximum support to facilitate smooth conduct of the exercise.
