Kano state commissioner for women affairs and social development Dr. Zahra’u Muhammad Umar has described mother’s as major pillars of Societal development.

She made the assertion during a qur’anic recitation competition organized by Ganduje foundation at Sani Abacha Indoor stadium kofar mata kano.

According to her, the competition was attended by contestants across the 44 local government areas in the state,where 13 year old Almiswar Alkasim from Kumbotso local government emerged winner.

The commissioner attributed the boy’s success to his mother’s tireless efforts in ensuring he attended school as well as incalcating good moral values.

Dr. Zahra’u Muhammad Umar urged parents and guardians to be more dedicated to their children’s education to ensure they become leaders of tomorrow.

Winners recieved cash and gifts while philanthropists and other stakeholders recieved awards for their immense contributions in moving the state forward

The qur’anic recitation competition was attended by the executive governor of Kano state,Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje,his wife Professor Hafsat Abdullahi Umar Ganduje,commissioners,dignitrie,
Journalists and the general public.
