Governor Bello Mohammed Matawalle of Zamfara State has met with his Borno State Counterpart Babagana Umara Zulum to share and review the security situation in their States.

This was disclosed in a statement issued to newsmen by the Director General, Media, Public Enlightenment and Communications Malam Yusuf Idris.

The two governors met to strategies efforts in addressing the security situation affecting their states and the dimensions which the insurgents are carrying out attacks on innocent citizens.

The two governors also shared notes on the mode of operations in handling the security situation with a view to using both approaches to achieve the set objective.

In the meeting, the governors also agreed to share genuine intelligence in order to maintain the firm stance in dealing with obstructors of government efforts of restoring the lost peace and maintenance of security of citizens lives and properties.

The meeting noted the roles of traditional institutions in the restoration of peace and agreed to work closely with the traditional rulers.
