Niger state government has evacuated its students that are studying at the University of Jos Plateau state to Minna following breach of peace in some parts of the state that resulted to loss of lives and properties.

This is contained in a statement signed and issued to Newsmen in Minna by the Chief Press Secretary to the Niger state Governor Mrs Mary Noel Berje.

According to the statement Niger state government said the action became imperative to safeguard lives and properties of it’s students following the suspension of second semester examination by the institution.

It is also targeted at ensuring students from Niger state were not left stranded to become victims of circumstances.

Niger state government however reaffirmed it’s determination to the safety of it’s citizens without regards to their geo political locations.

The state government through Commissioner for local government and Chieftaincy Affairs and that of Tertiary Education Science and Technology made arrangements for vehicles and security personnel to ensure safe return of the students.
